We decided to open Humunculus after our blended fashion and uniform store (Tots To Teens) was getting confusing with marketing for the fashion, as there are a lot of companies named the same.

The name Humunculus was from the word homunculus, meaning little people.
The name came about when we had our first son. He was born prematurely and as we were discussing his size, the doctor said he was from a family of homunculus, or little people. I, Sarah am only 4.11ft. 
I also later heard the expression on tv show and thought ‘‘what a perfect name for a shop. Homunculus the shop for the little people.’’
However, I opted to spell it another way. I’m dyslexic and I couldn’t spell it with a HO and kept writing it with the HU as there are so many U’s so I thought I like it more saying it with the HUM rather than the Ho. So I went with HUMUNCULUS, as it sounds like you say it and can still mean perfect little person.

The logo I wanted something fun and bright as we are a kids shop. Also I love that we have Hugo the dinosaur as my kids love dinosaurs.
I wanted to make a kids fashion store that is all about the kids and somewhere fun and easy to navigate through. Clothing sizes range from premature infants through to teens 16 years of age. We are stockists of major brands including Nature Baby, Jamie Kay, Arthur Ave, Korango, Eve Girl, Eve’s Sister, Animal Crackers, St Goliath, Hello Stranger, Little Flock of Horrors, Merino Kids, Bobux, Clarks, Sketchers and Grosby.

We will always strive to do an amazing shoe fitting service as well. I find it so important to get the correct shoe fitting on child’s feet. It can really make a difference with their motion development.
